Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian and New Zealand actress. Paquin was born in Wellington but born and raised in Winnipeg began her acting career with The Piano. At age 11, she became the tiniest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. Her family moved to New Zealand when she was a small child and she spent her childhood there. As a result of a public audition at the age of nine, she became Flora McGrath - the daughter of a Scottish mute pianist in the 19th century who made the move into New Zealand to marry an unplanned husband. At the age of 16 She moved to the United States. Paquin performed the leading role in Fly Away Home in 1996 and also had a small part as Jane Eyre at the time she was only a child. Paquin was a part-time actress in the 1997 TV movie remake of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad, she played the queen of Spain in a minor role. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and portrayed in the role of the polexia Aphrodisa girl in Almost Famous (2000).
