April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is among the few female players of beach volleyball who be able to do so. In Tokyo during the next few days, she'll be aiming to net her third medal alongside the first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross aims to earn an Olympic first gold medal, but she is also aiming to earn greater. With her age of 39, this may be her final chance to win the gold medal at an Olympics. However, she's convinced that top prizes are within reach. Ross was quoted in NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very top, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. In addition, I'm planning to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in the year 1982. Her parents as well as her sister lived in the area. Her athletic career continued at Newport Harbor High School where she was a part of a number of sports. Being a pre-athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. But she stood out at this level. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter at the tennis court, according to her college bio. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the national Player 1999. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in 2000. Ross has been playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017. However, Ross's beach game was well-established long before the year. It's true that she has won numerous tournaments, including one with the legendary player of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until 2013. She also worked with Klineman as well as herself. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who took home the title of world champion together with Kessy in 2009 was also an important player on the world stage. They eventually won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. They were defeated for the gold by the legendary group comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement as she left the team. The pair were awarded bronze medals at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross began her college time with the Trojans at USC following high school. It was a long time before Ross hit the beach, and then became a pro. And her run at USC was one to remember. As a freshmen in 2000 Her performance was rewarded with the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Young Player of the Year awards. The Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four with her help. Her personal tragedy was a crushing loss during her sophomore year and yet she went on to repeat in the ranks of an All-American. Over the course of her final two seasons, she took the Trojans up the mountain and won consecutive national titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend having won the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a student of International Relations at USC. Margie Ross was never able to watch her daughter's rise to beach volleyball fame. Ross's mother passed away from breast carcinoma in 2001. Ross had just become sophomore at USC. Ross holds her mother close to her heart. Margie, on the beach as well as in everyday life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
