Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She was co-founder of The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington has been an actor, journalist writer, philanthropist, and philanthropist for more than ten years. She also is the founder of The Huffington Post, an free-of-cost online news magazine. She moved to Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and received an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. She was the first student non-UK to be elected president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After graduation she made her mark as columnist in the conservative syndicated media and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched an online voice platform that provided critical views on the political scenario. Her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna rose to fame in 2003 when she decided to contest as an independent candidate during the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th position in the list. The same year Guardian named her to the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her president of the media group that also includes other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. The parents of her were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. She was extremely close to her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother which has shaped her. Even as a young girl she demonstrated leadership skills which she is still renowned for. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third female to hold the position of the president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. Her professional career as a journalist and television host began after she graduated. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She started writing books with his guidance to edit.
